Early erythematous

Stretchmarks, (growth, pregnancy or steroid) show vascular discolouration initially, then some permanent atrophy and loss of pigmentation.
Initial treatments are with the pulsed dye laser or intense pulsed light then with the fractional ablative CO2 laser (DeepFX™) or the Fraxel Dual™ 1550nm erbium glass laser which is non-ablative (columns of coagulated tissue in the micro-thermal zones other systems used such as ResurFX™ at 1565nm may also work).
Generally a course of treatments is required to achieve progressive improvement. Recently other manufacturers show promise with various devices in the mid-infrared zone.
An interesting space is claims (substantiated by some clinical studies), of the effectiveness of LED systems without PDT, (Lightwave Elite™ and Omnilux™). These claims are hard to substantiate in clinical practice.
